One of the major challenges facing small businesses is access to capital to start, grow, and/or scale. In 2018 we created a platform for small business owners to learn how to plan for, prepare to, and pitch their businesses for funding using a non-traditional funding source; business plan and business pitch competitions. Our inaugural So You Want to Pitch Conference gave attendees the opportunity to attend workshops, network with other small businesses, pitch their business for a chance for funding, and it afforded small business owners the opportunity to speak directly to organizations that host competitions. It was our goal to assist entrepreneurs to better prepare their businesses to receive funding, as well as to learn what funders are looking for, what they fund, and gain invaluable insight in to the funding process.
In 2019, we are taking "pitching" a step further. We recognize that business owners "pitch" their businesses daily via face-to-face interactions, over the phone, via email, and on social media. We want entrepreneurs to learn how to better leverage these opportunities to get in front of customers and collaborators to increase revenue and obtain the capital investment they need. We have expanded our workshop offerings to include experts in government contracting, customer acquisition, social media, and much more.
Attendees can expect the 2019 So You Want to Pitch Conference to hold true to our original mission of offering opportunities to learn the fundamentals of pitching, pitch for funding and in-kind contributions to their business, network with other small businesses, and to meet funding organizations. We have also added additional resources as we recognize the need to give small businesses the tools they need to leave our conference with tangible action steps that will help them "pitch" their business.
This is a conference you do not want to miss!
